Institution's history, State University of Surabaya (UNESA) started from the embryo of a course intergrasi BI and B-II in the FKIP in Surabaya in 1960. Then in 1961 FKIP be integrated with PTPG FKIP Airlangga University in Surabaya Malang Branch. In 1963 FKIP Airlangga Surabaya diintergrasikan the IPG into IKIP. Furthermore, there was the development and changes name to Faculty of Education (FIP), Faculty of Social Science Education (FPIPS), Faculty of Education Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FPMIPA), Faculty of Education and Language Arts (FPBS), Faculty of Engineering and Education Vocational (FPTK), Faculty of Education and Sports and Health (FPOK).

Based on Presidential Decree No RI. 93 In 1999, changes to IKIP Surabaya University, Surabaya.
